We’ve saved the best for last of course. Carson and Mrs Hughes. The love affair we’ve all been waiting for since series one was delightfully teased at the finale, as the duo trotted into the sea, holding hands. One imagines they shared a 99 with a Flake and a tray of cod and chips after the cameras finished rolling.
It was all perfectly set up by Jim Carter, whose butler was in particular brilliant form earlier in the episode, barking demands at the American visitors (“You are a footman, not a travelling salesman!”) and getting all flustered at the suggestion that hanky panky may have been taking place downstairs under his watch.
To have his softer side gradually unveiled by the ever-persistent and loyal Mrs Hughes was a truly heartwarming moment. There may not have been a hint of snow, but it felt utterly festive.
HG’s face when she meets Myka for the first time.
"I felt like my character was supposed to have chemistry with [Eddie]…and I was like, "that would never happen…” then Joanne Kelly walked onto set and I was just like, “hell yes.”“ — Jaime Murray
#HG just dragged her eyes down Myka like a rake through three weeks of fall leaves #and picked up ever single piece of her on the way back up #must have been a pretty big effort to get through all that unf #because she looks mighty hungry there at the end - webgeekist

TV Shows Meme: 2/9 relationships [Lana Parrilla + Robert Carlyle]
"We can make anything work together and we out of that became really good friends, he’s become not only a mentor but like a big brother and I just adore working with him. There’s a level of trust there so we can really go anywhere, he’s one of the best actors I’ve ever worked with in my career."
